- Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

Both women & men of all walks of life & of all ages can be treated. Persons under the age of 16 years will require a parent or proper guardian to be with them at least for the first treatment. - Are Laser treatments More Effective Than Waxing, Shaving & Creams?
Laser hair removal safely removes unwanted hair without damaging the skin. Laser emits a beam of light that passes through the skin unaffected. Unlike shaving or waxing, there are no ingrown, infections, razor burns, bumps or bleeding with laser hair removal. Shaving & waxing creams are temporary fixes that irritate the skin and need to be done weekly or monthly through your entire life and still cannot achieve permanent hair reduction. Certainly, laser hair removal over a period of time, is more cost effective & effective in permanent hair reduction. - How long do the treatments last?
Treatments vary from patient to patient depending on the area being treated. Treatment sessions can last from a few minutes to over an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.
Example: It would take about 5 minutes to do a women\'s bikini line & underarms or about 30-45 minutes to do the average mans full back. - How many Treatments will i need?
Depending on the areas being treated and other factors such as skin & hair colour, coarseness of hair & hormones, clients may need 4-8 treatments for the average women & 6-10 treatments men. You will see genuine hair reduction even after the first treatment but it is important to commit to several treatments for even greater results. Clients can achieve 80-90% hair reduction but keep in mind that you may need 1-3 maintenance visits a year. Our experienced therapists can provide an estimate of the number of treatments you may need. Treatments should be repeated every 4-8 weeks apart depending on the hair growth rate. - Is it Painful?
Our CANDELA GENTLELASE machine has a dynamic cooling device which cools the skin on contact making the treatment almost painless. The little discomfort felt is often compared to an elastic band snapping against the skin. If needed, topical anesthesia can be applied (1 hour before treatment) when treating sensitive areas of the body. - Are there before & after precautions i need to take?
It is important for clients for avoid sun exposure/tanning for 2-3 weeks before any laser hair removal treatments and 1-2 weeks after the treatment. Always use 30+SPF if you are going outdoors before & after treatments for long periods of time.
You should avoid tweezing or waxing before treatment. Any hair should be shaved in areas to be treated 1-2 days prior to treatment. - Are there any side effects with laser hair removal?
After treatment, you can return to work or go about your daily activities right away. There is no down time as there may only be slight redness to treated areas which will subside within 1-2 hours. Laser hair removal has low risk & all treatments results are individual. - How much do the treatments cost?
