Glycolic Peels

Naturally, our skin is able to replace old cells with new ones. But overtime, this natural exfoliating process begins to slow down. Thankfully, there are treatments to help stimulate rejuvenation of new skin cells so you can achieve tighter and smoother skin that is relatively free of fine lines and blemishes such as age spots and uneven pigmentation.

Professional laser hair removal is pleased to introduce the glycolic peel treatment by Skinstitut to our clients. The glycolic peel is a safe and painless exfoliation process that removes a thin top layer of skin. This rejuvenation treatment uses glycolic acid to remove damaged cells on the top layer of the skin. This removal of damaged cells stimulates cell division that results in healthy young cells.

How does the glycolic peel treatment work?

Glycolic acid removes old, damaged cells on the top layer of skin and results in smoothing and softening the skin, diminishes fine lines, lessons acne breakouts, evens out skin tone coloration and lightens pigmentation. Glycolic peels can be used on your face, neck, chest, back, arms and hands.

Professional laser hair removal use the glycolic peel ( compared to so many other chemical peels that are also available) because it uses the most popular Hydroxyl Acid -  a natural fruit acid, also known as AHA. It is a light and safe skin treatment that gently penetrates the uppermost layer of skin. Glycolic acid is derived from sugar canes – a natural product.

How does it feel?

The solution is applied to the skin and patients will usually feel a burning sensation similar to sunburn after the treatment. It is very important to use sunscreen after the treatment because the skin is more sensitive and susceptible to injury by the sun.

What are the side effects with glycolic peels?

Some patients may notice dryness and/or peeling/flaking 2-4 days after the treatment. Occasionally, patients with sensitive skin may have temporary redness and irritation. Patients generally return to their normal activities immediately after treatment; however this can vary from person to person. Our trained professionals can advise you on how long your peel will need to heal.

How long does it last?

Glycolic peel treatments can last from 10 minutes to 1 hour depending on the area being treated. Most patients will feel and notice a change in their skin immediately. For best results, most patients will require multiple treatments. Our trained professionals can advise you as to whether or not glcold peels are appropriate for you and how many treatments you may need to maintain for desired results.
